Roofrite Northland – Reroofing
Roofs installed in New Zealand have to have a lifespan of at least 15 years. Most will last a lot longer if they have been installed and maintained properly, but the day will come when you find your roof has reached the end of its life. Whether it is losing colour or suffering from mould, corrosion and rust, is no longer fit for purpose or even if you simply want to redesign the look of your house or office building. There are numerous reasons for having your roof replaced.
The process of reroofing may seem daunting, but our expert team at Roofrite Northland will guide you through it step-by-step and answer your questions along the way. Before we start, there are some questions for you to consider to ensure that your new roof will keep you happy and your property protected for years to come.
Environment
Assessing the position of your property, we will discuss important factors such as climate and location. What elements will your roof most likely be exposed to? Are you near the coast or high up on a hill? Is the building on a slope or will the roof be sloped?
Legality
Depending on the kind of building and where you are located, there may be legal aspects to consider including obtaining a permit or building consent to change the roof. You may also be limited as to which colours you can choose, so it pays to have a chat with your local council.
Preferences
Once we have looked at external factors potentially influencing the look of your new roof, it is time to look at what you want. We specialize in New Zealand Colorsteel, offering you a range of profiles and colour choices to match the character of your existing property.
Depending on your preferences, your timeframe and your budget, we will provide you with a range of solutions to choose from and give you an estimated quote. Throughout the reroofing process, this quote can slightly change depending on additional work or repairs that may be required.
The reroofing process
Once you have decided on what kind of roof you want, it is time to get to work. If you are needing to replace your old roof due to leaks or structural issues, we will assess the situation before we start to eliminate any problems that may cause further grief in the future.
As soon as the scaffolding is up, we will remove your old roof and inspect the entire roof structure for damage. We will undertake any necessary repairs in consultation with you, including replacing damaged or rottem battens. We will also install insulation if needed before putting on your new roof, as it is much easier to do so at this point. Should any necessary repairs result in additional costs outside your budget, we will discuss this with you and provide you with possible solutions.
After successfully completing the job, we will undertake a final inspection and clean up the work site, removing rubbish and any unused materials. Health and Safety is very important to us. We follow the highest industry standards and are part of the Site Safe community. At this point, we will also issue you with all necessary warranties and the guarantee that your new roof is genuine New Zealand Colorsteel.
